Complete Re-Hemping

Quality hemping is vital to ensuring your bagpipe is performing at its best. Uneven, deteriorated, or slipping/turning hemp can make tuning difficult, leading otherwise happy Pipe Majors and drone tuners to grumpiness!

 

Our service includes removal of all old hemp, re-hemping of all parts, and testing to ensure new hemp doesn't slip and that all parts fix well before leaving the premises.

 

Standard hemping is with yellow waxed hemp, however we are happy to accommodate requests for hemping in black waxed hemp or plain yellow hemp for no additional charge.

 

*After a month or so, depending on climate and playing time, hemped parts will generally need a few additional windings of hemp, as new hemp compacts over time.
